MG produced this as a Left-Hand drive TD with Export to North America specifications, on 29 December, 1952. The Vessel ledgers show coupe 231 was shipped on the SS Kollfynn with coupes 226, 227, 228, 229 and 230, and convertibles 233, 234, 235 and 237, received in Chicago via the Great Lakes on 21 July, 1953. The purchaser was Columbus Sports Car Co. sold on 21 August, 1953, invoice 1109. Purchased by Dave Stewart in the late 1950's in Columbia; he sold the original engine and Borrani's, and installed the drivetrain, front and rear suspensions (pressed-steel center-lock wheels and 4-wheel discs) from two MGA twin cams he bought. Has Porsche 356 seats, but also has originals.
