MG produced this as a Left-Hand drive TD with Export to North America specifications (EXLNA), on 23 March, 1953. The Vessel ledgers show that Arnolt coupe 264 was shipped on the SS Torima, arriving in New York "about" 1 September, 1953. Purchaser was Williamson Motors, Los Angeles, on 30 September, 1955, invoice 267. Now fitted with a Shorrock supercharger, Motorola AM radio, chrome Borrani's. John Elwood is confident that this is the actual car displayed at MoMa in 1953, based on shipping location, letters from Arnolt to MoMa saying that the car displayed was Sun Bronze, and ship date. Listed for sale by Pantheon Classic Garage in 6/25, for $178,114 (GBP85,311). Offered at Bonham's auction (Switzeerand) 6/29/2025, lot 137, estimated 70-90ChF. Apparently unsold.
